Insurance Providers WE CAN DIRECT BILL

Direct Billing

We would love to for all our clinicians to be able to direct bill all insurance insurance providers.  Unfortunately, not all providers make this possible.  If you are working with a clinician who cannot direct bill your insurance company and you would like this service, please talk to your insurance provider.  If enough clients ask that their clinician be able to direct bill the insurance provider may "turn the service on" for more providers.

Even if a clinician is authorized to direct bill an insurance provider, this does not mean every insurance plan offered by that insurance company will cover every type of mental health therapist.  It is up to the client to check with their insurance provider regarding requirements for clinician qualifications to receive coverage.

If we cannot direct bill your insurance provider, your clinician will provide you with a receipt at the end of each session that you can submit for reimbursement.  Our client's tell us that most other insurance providers reimburse clients via direct deposit within 3-5 business days.

Direct billing lawyers

We often receive referrals from lawyers for clients who are suffering from mental health concerns due to accident, injury or illness that has become subject to a lawsuit.  A client's lawyer may ask us to do a psychometric assessment for brain injury / personality change or mental health issues.  At other times, a client's lawyer may ask us to provide psychological therapy for the client to help them overcome mental health concerns that have resulted from the accident, injury, or illness.  In these cases we generally contract with, and direct bill the lawyer.

If you are coming to Firefly Counselling and Consulting for treatment regarding a legal case we will ask you to sign a release of information to send reports to your lawyer.  This is standard procedure for legal cases.  You are encouraged to discuss with your clinician what is, and is not included in these reports.  As with the counselling session, costs for legal reports for clients on contract are direct billed to the contracting lawyer.
